In accordance with the 2026 preparation plan approved by the Defense Minister, the next phase of training and exercise flights has been conducted in the aviation units of the Azerbaijan Air Force. The Defense Ministry released detailed information about the course of the flights.
Preparation phase for flights
According to the Ministry's information, the health status of the pilot personnel was checked before the flights began. Additionally, technical inspections of aviation equipment were carried out, and pilots were reminded of safety regulations.
Which aircraft participated
Within the training program, practical flights were conducted using JF-17C (Block III), Su-25ML, Su-25 and L-39 type combat and training aircraft. Pilots performed air defense tasks both individually and in group mode.
Content and purpose of training
During the flights, pilot personnel practiced coordinated activities in airspace, execution of conditional combat tasks, tactical maneuvers, target detection and destruction exercises. At the same time, the ability to make quick and correct decisions in emergency situations was tested.
The Ministry stated that the main purpose of the training is to increase the combat readiness level of the flight personnel, develop professional skills, and ensure that tasks are performed accurately and safely under various meteorological and tactical conditions. Additionally, practical tasks aimed at expanding the combat application capabilities of the Air Force aviation assets were also carried out.
