The US has sent search and rescue teams, medical resources, and humanitarian aid to Venezuela to address the aftermath of powerful earthquakes.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio shared this information on the social network "X".
Rubio stated that his prayers are with those who lost loved ones, those injured, and the rescuers working to mitigate the disaster's consequences.
The Secretary of State noted that, by order of Donald Trump, the US State Department immediately dispatched search and rescue teams, medical resources, and humanitarian aid to Venezuela.
It should be noted that a 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck northern Venezuela on Friday night. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), two more tremors of 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude were recorded 40 seconds apart.
A state of emergency has been declared in the country due to the natural disaster. Initial reports indicate that at least 32 people died and 700 were injured as a result of the earthquakes.
