Republican member of the US Congress Abe Hamadeh published an article on the Newsmax portal about his visit to Azerbaijan, his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, and the importance of strategic cooperation between the two countries. US President Donald Trump supported the piece by sharing it on his Truth Social account.
Strategic position and reliable partnership
In his article, Abe Hamadeh specifically emphasized that Azerbaijan is located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, bordering Russia and Iran. The congressman noted that the country is one of the most strategic locations in the world as an important energy producer, transport hub, and security partner.
I have just returned from Azerbaijan and held a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev. This visit once again demonstrated that America's influence is stronger when it actively cooperates with reliable partners.
Hamadeh added that during Donald Trump's leadership, significant progress was made towards lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He warned of the importance of continuing active US participation in this process: "If America does not lead, rival powers like Russia and Iran will try to fill the resulting vacuum."
It should be noted that Congressman Abe Hamadeh visited Azerbaijan in June. During the visit, he met with President Ilham Aliyev and other officials to discuss Azerbaijan-US relations, regional security, economic cooperation, and the peace process.
