Armenia does not intend to introduce a visa regime with Russia.

Jnews.az reports that Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said this while commenting on statements by Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Pashinyan stated that the issue of changing the existing border crossing rules between Armenia and Russia is currently not on the government’s agenda.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Yerevan’s position on this matter remains unchanged. According to him, no decision has been made regarding Armenia transitioning to a visa regime with Russia.

It should be noted that Maria Zakharova previously stated that Armenia introducing a visa regime for Russian citizens would primarily harm Yerevan itself. According to her, such a decision would affect the interests of Armenian citizens. Zakharova also noted that Russian citizens living in Russia who have numerous relatives in Armenia would also be affected by this step.
