President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on marking the 130th anniversary of the country's prominent state and scientific figure Aziz Aliyev. The document notes that January 2027 marks the 130th anniversary of the birth of Aziz Mammadkarim oglu Aliyev, a prominent state and scientific figure, healthcare organizer, doctor of medical sciences, and professor.
The decree highly appreciates Aziz Aliyev's rich life path and his services to the country:
"As a true patriotic intellectual devoted to high goals and humanistic ideals, Aziz Aliyev led an honorable life and is one of the rare personalities who set a brilliant example of service to the nation for future generations. Working in various responsible positions, with a sense of national commitment, he consistently engaged in highly effective activities aimed at state-building and improving governance. Aziz Aliyev played an exceptional role in establishing the healthcare system in Azerbaijan on modern foundations, shaping medical education in line with contemporary standards, and preparing qualified national cadres in this field. During the years of World War II, Aziz Aliyev successfully led a number of important tasks distinguished by their military-political significance. In decisive moments of Azerbaijan's history, he enriched the school of public administration through resolute steps regarding issues vital to the nation's destiny. His selflessness and contributions to further strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and Dagestan transformed Aziz Aliyev's name into a true symbol of friendship and brotherhood between our peoples."
According to the decree, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, together with the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, must prepare and execute an action plan regarding the 130th anniversary of the prominent state and scientific figure Aziz Aliyev. At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan is instructed to resolve matters arising from this decree.
