Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been awarded the Hessian Peace Prize for his efforts towards the development of democratic institutions and the country's rapprochement with the European Union.
According to a statement released by the Hessian Landtag, the 51-year-old politician was presented with the award for his "tireless efforts" in building democratic institutions in the country and bringing Armenia closer to the European Union.
It was noted that Nikol Pashinyan, one of the leaders of the 2018 "Velvet Revolution", paved the way for parliamentary elections and has since been leading the country towards peace and European integration as prime minister.
The statement also mentioned that Pashinyan, with US support, signed a peace declaration with the President of Azerbaijan in August 2025, and later signed the "Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan".
It should be noted that the Hessian Peace Prize includes a monetary award of 25,000 euros.
