Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that his country is ready for peace talks with Ukraine, but these must be conducted on the basis of the agreements reached in Istanbul in 2022.
Putin noted that he sees no reason to deviate from those agreements. The basis for Russia's position on talks includes the Istanbul and Anchorage principles, the current realities on the front line, and his speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2024.
As has been stated repeatedly, Russia is ready for peace talks with Ukraine based on the agreements reached in Istanbul, and I want to remind you that these agreements were initialed by the Ukrainian delegation, meaning everything satisfied them.
The Russian leader also emphasized that Ukraine's air attacks against Russia do not affect the situation on the front line. According to him, Russian forces continue to liberate settlements one after another.
In Putin's opinion, Kyiv is trying to create the impression that it has a strong negotiating position with such attacks, but the realities on the battlefield show the opposite.
