A severe road accident in Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan has claimed at least 40 lives, with 8 others injured.
The incident occurred on July 3 in the early morning hours in the Dana Sar area near the border between Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. According to reports, a passenger bus traveling from Quetta to Islamabad veered off the road and plunged into a ravine after the driver lost control. The bus was carrying a total of 48 passengers.
Rescue workers, police, and emergency medical teams were deployed to the accident site. The injured were transported to nearby medical facilities. Officials reported that the mountainous terrain complicated the rescue operations.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and directed relevant authorities to provide necessary medical assistance to the injured.
