Enhanced security measures implemented in Turkey's capital Ankara ahead of NATO summit result in detention of over 4,000 wanted individuals.
According to reports, extensive checks were conducted from April 4 to July 1. During this period, police officers checked identity documents of over 1.5 million people across the city and inspected approximately 930,000 vehicles.
During the operations, public places, hotels, cafes and restaurants, entertainment venues, car rental companies, parking lots, temporary accommodation facilities, and other public institutions were inspected.
Police operations were carried out with the aim of strengthening security in the capital ahead of the NATO summit.
According to information from Turkish law enforcement authorities, measures continue to be taken in Ankara to protect public order and ensure the safety of citizens.
