The government of the Republic of Nauru has decided to open its embassy in Israel in Jerusalem. This was announced by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar. According to the minister, the decision was made following a meeting with Nauru's Vice President Martin Hunt Aingimea last week.

G. Saar stated that Nauru's diplomatic mission will be the tenth foreign embassy to operate in Jerusalem.

Gideon Saar: Nauru is a true friend of Israel. The opening of the embassy in Jerusalem will make a significant contribution to further strengthening relations and expanding cooperation between our countries.

Currently, the USA, Guatemala, Honduras, Kosovo, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, and Fiji have located their embassies in Jerusalem. In addition, Colombia is also expected to move its diplomatic mission to Jerusalem in the near future.

It should be noted that the Republic of Nauru is one of the world's smallest independent island nations, located in the Micronesia region of the South Pacific.
