Several explosions occurred near the hotel in Damascus where French President Emmanuel Macron stayed during his visit to Syria.
According to Reuters, explosion sounds were heard in the vicinity of the hotel where Macron was staying. The cause of the incident and the exact location of the explosions have not been officially disclosed.
French leader Macron visited Damascus on June 6 for talks with Syria's new leadership. This is considered the first visit to Damascus by an EU member state leader since the change of power in Syria.
