On July 1, Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of IDEA Public Union, visited the historic Friday Mosque during her trip to Yevlakh city.
During the visit, Leyla Aliyeva became closely acquainted with the internal structure of the mosque, how religious ceremonies are conducted there, and the conditions created for worshippers.
According to information provided by the mosque's imam, the Friday Mosque was put into service in 1998 and can accommodate approximately 600 people for worship at the same time.
The imam also emphasized that the restoration of mosques in liberated territories has been met with great satisfaction among religious leaders and the faithful. He noted that the Friday Mosque is also surrounded by the state's attention and care, and expressed gratitude to the country's leadership for this.
At the end of the visit, Leyla Aliyeva was presented with the Quran as a gift.
