The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has confirmed the discovery of personal items that may belong to Major Yehuda Katz, who went missing during the 1982 battles in Lebanon.

Major Yehuda Katz was one of three Israeli soldiers missing after the Battle of Sultan Yacoub on June 11, 1982. The remains of the other two servicemen — Sergeant Zachary Baumel and Sergeant Zvi Feldman — were returned to Israel in 2019 and 2025, respectively.

Israel continues the search for two more missing soldiers. One of them is Lieutenant Colonel Ron Arad, who went missing after ejecting from his damaged aircraft over Lebanon on October 16, 1986.

The other soldier is Sergeant Guy Hever, who disappeared from his military base on the Golan Heights on August 17, 1997.
