Residents of Nizami and Khoylu villages have been evacuated following a fire and explosion at an ammunition depot near Nizami village in Goranboy region.
Jnews.az reports, citing the Goranboy District Executive Power. A total of 5,000 people were evacuated, and a checkpoint was established at the entrance to Nizami village.
The incident occurred during the night
On the night of September 2, a fire broke out at an ammunition depot near Nizami village in Goranboy region, followed by an explosion.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a joint statement regarding the incident.
It was noted that immediately upon receiving initial reports, relevant forces from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Defense, in coordination with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Goranboy District Executive Power, initiated urgent measures. The situation is currently under control.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
