A large batch of counterfeit alcoholic beverages was uncovered during operational measures in Nakhchivan. The products were labeled with fake excise stamps and intended for sale.
According to the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the illegal storage and sale were recorded by officers of the Preliminary Investigation Department for Tax Crimes on August 14, 2026. The counterfeit goods were stored in a warehouse belonging to Sahil Arif oglu Murtuzayev, located in the village of Garabaglar in the Kangarli District.
Following proper documentation, the entire batch of illegal alcohol was seized. The State Tax Service is currently conducting an investigation to determine all the circumstances of the case.
The agency emphasized that such control measures are conducted regularly to combat the «shadow economy» and ensure transparency in the production and circulation of excisable goods. Entrepreneurs were urged to strictly comply with legal requirements to avoid financial sanctions and other legal liabilities.
