In June 2026, the consumer price index for goods and services in Azerbaijan increased by 5.8% compared to the same period last year. This was stated in data published in the «Monetary Policy Review» of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
Core inflation, calculated excluding price changes of seasonal goods and services, as well as state-regulated products, stood at 5.5% on an annual basis in June 2026.
The highest price increase was recorded in the food products, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products segment. Annual inflation in this group reached 7.1%. The contribution of food products to the overall inflation rate rose to 3.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
In the food products category, the price increase was mainly driven by higher prices for fruits, as well as milk and dairy products. On an annual basis, their prices rose by 10.7% and 9.5%, respectively.
Prices of non-food goods increased by 3.8% during the year. The highest price increase in this group was recorded for jewelry, with prices rising by 21.7%.
