Azerbaijan's Qarabag football club has strengthened its squad with a new footballer.
The Agdam representative officially announced the transfer of centre-back Bence Varkonyi, who previously played for Hungarian club Zalaegerszegi TE (ZTE).
According to information released by local and foreign media, the 24-year-old footballer's transfer value is estimated at approximately 1 million euros. It is reported that the parties have signed a three-year contract.
Bence Varkonyi was one of ZTE's main squad members in the last season. The 1.87-metre-tall centre-back is distinguished by reliable defensive play, superiority in aerial duels, and strong physical attributes. He has also represented Hungary in various age-group national teams.
Varkonyi is expected to join Qarabag's training camp in the coming days and participate in the team's preparation for the UEFA Champions League qualifying stage.
