Lebanon is seeking to achieve a ceasefire agreement with Israel at the talks scheduled to take place in Rome. According to diplomatic sources, border security, reducing military tension, and the terms of a possible agreement between the parties will be the main topics of discussion.

Meanwhile, Israeli authorities have established conditions that will form the basis of the country's position on resolving the situation in Lebanon. It is reported that these demands are primarily aimed at ensuring the security of the country's northern borders, eliminating threats coming from border areas, and establishing long-term stability.

Alongside diplomatic preparations, Israel stated that it keeps the option of military pressure on the agenda. Israeli officials warned that if Hezbollah does not agree to release detained fighters, an operation could be conducted against one of the group's main military complexes and that facility could be taken under control.

In addition, due to the high level of tension remaining between the parties, international mediators state that the successful outcome of the talks is of crucial importance in terms of preventing a new escalation in the region.
