Israel plans to develop a new generation combat unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with features comparable to US F-35 fighter jets. Bloomberg reported this, citing its source.
According to the report, the project is part of Israel's strategy to gradually reduce its dependence on US military aid. Tel Aviv aims to replace this aid in the future with cooperation programs for the joint development and production of weapons.
The involvement of other countries in the project to develop the prospective combat UAV is not excluded.
The technical specifications of the new unmanned platform are intended to be close to the capabilities of US-made F-35 fighter jets. This initiative is considered the next step aimed at strengthening Israel's technological independence in the defense industry.
