It has been revealed that the victims of a severe traffic accident in the Absheron district were former footballers and youth football coaches.
The incident occurred on the Lokbatan-Qobu road. According to preliminary information, a Toyota passenger car driven by Rauf Adalat oglu Huseynov collided with a Gazelle truck driven by Mais Agahuseyn oglu Agaverdiyev.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Toyota, Rauf Huseynov, and the passenger, Bahruz Ilham oglu Sultanov, died at the scene from their injuries. The driver of the Gazelle truck, Mais Agaverdiyev, sustained various bodily injuries.
According to reports, Rauf Huseynov and Bahruz Sultanov, who lost their lives in the crash, were formerly players of the Qobu Professional Football Club. Later, they worked as coaches, conducting football training for teenagers in the Lokbatan and Qobu settlements.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated at the Absheron District Police Department under Article 263.3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (violation of traffic and vehicle operation rules resulting by negligence in the death of two or more persons).
A preliminary investigation is currently underway to determine the causes and all details of the incident.
