New details have emerged regarding the armed terrorist attack that took place near the Havat Gilad outpost in the Samaria region of the West Bank.
According to information released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), soldiers from the Shomron Brigade were deployed to the area near Tel mound following reports of an attack on Israeli civilians.
The weapon of one of the security personnel who arrived at the scene was seized by the terrorists. They subsequently used the weapon to open fire on Israeli civilians. As a result, several people sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital.
Additional military forces were sent to the region following the incident. A large-scale search operation has been launched to apprehend the terrorists, and checkpoints have been established in the area. A special security regime has been declared in the city of Nablus (Shechem) and Tel mound, which fall under the responsibility of the Shomron Brigade.
Two people wounded in the attack were admitted to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv. It was reported that the condition of one of them is critical, and doctors are fighting to save their life. The condition of the other wounded individual is also assessed as serious.
