Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that during his meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington, they discussed three possible approaches regarding Iran.
Jnews.az reports that speaking at an event in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said these options consist of a diplomatic agreement, military steps, and further strengthening pressure against Tehran.
The Prime Minister expressed doubt that a fruitful agreement could be reached with the Iranian leadership.
“I told Trump that one of the old options is an agreement. Of course, if you can reach a good agreement, we do not object to it. But I doubt that it is possible to reach an agreement with that side, with those savages,” Netanyahu said.
Pointing to military operations as the second option, the head of the Israeli government emphasized that his country is ready to defend itself in the face of a possible attack.
“We will not allow Iran to attack us. If they attack, they will receive a strike exceeding their expectations,” Netanyahu stated.
Stating that the third option is to further increase pressure against Iran, Netanyahu linked this to the sanctions Washington has expanded against Tehran in recent days. According to him, the US is pressuring not only Iran itself, but also parties supporting this country’s regime.
“The step President Trump took yesterday further tightens the blockade against it, not by pressuring Iran itself, but those who help this regime, this terrible dictatorship. This is very important,” Netanyahu emphasized.
