Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that 16 targets belonging to Russia's military and energy infrastructure were struck over the past 24 hours.
Jnews.az reports that the strikes targeted long-range oil refining facilities, airfields, missile units, and other infrastructure used by Russia to launch attacks on Ukraine.
Additionally, Ukrainian forces reportedly struck a military enterprise and logistics infrastructure inside Russian territory.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a strike on the LUKOIL-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery located in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. According to Ukrainian and Russian sources, a fire broke out on the refinery's grounds overnight between August 25 and 26 following a drone attack.
The facility is one of Russia's largest oil refineries, with a reported annual refining capacity of approximately 17 million tons. The plant had previously been targeted in Ukrainian attacks.
