The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the General Security Service (Shin Bet) conducted a joint operation in the Gaza Strip. As a result of the operation, two weapons depots belonging to Hamas were destroyed.
Jnews.az reports that this was stated in a joint official statement by the IDF and Shin Bet.
According to the report, the weapons depots were located on the premises of mosques in the Shati and Deir al-Balah districts. According to the Israeli side, dozens of automatic rifles, ammunition magazines, and various military equipment were stored in the depots.
The statement noted that prior to the strikes, a number of measures were taken to minimize risks to the civilian population. Residents of those areas were warned in advance that they needed to evacuate.
The strikes were carried out under continuous aerial surveillance and control, using high-precision munitions.
The IDF emphasized that placing weapons depots in places of worship is further proof that Hamas uses civilian facilities for military purposes.
