In Perm Krai, Russia, Azerbaijani citizen Ruslan Mamedov Mamed ogly has been detained on suspicion of bribery. According to Russian media, Ruslan Mamedov is one of the leaders of the local Azerbaijani diaspora.
According to investigators, he offered to transfer money to law enforcement officers to terminate criminal prosecution against a Perm resident. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 5 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
By court decision, Mamedov was remanded in custody until October 7. In addition, after his arrest, he was banned from entering Russia until June 4, 2076.
