On June 26, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of Defense, met with military personnel who were awarded higher military ranks by order of the President of Azerbaijan. According to information from the Ministry, new ranks were presented to the officers during the meeting.
During the ceremony, the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 25, 2026, on awarding military personnel the higher military rank of "Major General" was read. Subsequently, after the relevant order of the Minister of Defense was announced, the ranks were presented.
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov conveyed the congratulations of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to the military personnel. He wished success to the newly promoted officers in their future service and gave his instructions and recommendations.
In turn, the newly promoted officers expressed their gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for the high trust placed in them. They pledged to justify this trust.
