Ukrainian authorities reported that Russia carried out the largest ballistic missile attack on Kyiv since the start of the war overnight.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia organized a large-scale combined air attack on Ukrainian territory during the night. A total of 166 aerial targets were recorded during the attack. Of these, 41 were missiles and 125 were unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The report noted that the main target of the strike was Kyiv.
It was reported that 126 aerial targets were neutralized as a result of the activities of air defense forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups. Of these, 18 were missiles and 108 were unmanned aerial vehicles.
In addition, based on preliminary information, 23 missiles and 10 strike-type unmanned aerial vehicles were recorded hitting 20 different locations. It was also reported that debris from the downed drones fell in 18 areas.
As a result of the attack, 1 person was killed and 8 others were injured in Kyiv.
Furthermore, it was reported that a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle attacked a passenger train in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Efforts to address the consequences of the incident are ongoing.
