During anti-poaching measures conducted in the Gizil-Agach National Park, individuals engaged in illegal hunting and fishing were detained.
Jnews.az reports that employees of the Water Transport Police Department of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry conducted a series of measures in the territory of the national park.
During the operation, officers from the Lankaran Linear Police Department detained I. Akhmedov, who was engaged in illegal fishing in the park's water body. During a search of him, various types of fish and illegal fishing tools were discovered and seized.
During another raid in that area, E. Eynalov, R. Eynalov, E. Azizov, and I. Eynalov were detained. 4 hunting rifles were seized from them, for which they lacked the necessary permits.
Furthermore, 72 carcasses of wild birds of various species, listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Azerbaijan, were found on the detained persons.
An investigation into the facts is currently underway.
Law enforcement officers continue to conduct joint control and preventive measures with relevant state structures aimed at protecting aquatic biological resources and maintaining the ecological balance in the country's protected areas.
