The Embassy of Israel in Azerbaijan has expressed condolences over the passing of People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, prominent director and actor Alexander Sharovsky.
«We are deeply saddened by the passing of Alexander Sharovsky, a respected leader of the Ashkenazi Jewish community of Azerbaijan, a dedicated figure who worked for many years to preserve, strengthen, and represent Jewish life in Azerbaijan.»
Jnews.az reports that this was stated in a condolence message released by the Embassy of Israel in Azerbaijan.
It was noted that Alexander Sharovsky‘s leadership, dedication, and contributions to the community reflected the spirit of long-term coexistence, mutual respect, and friendship deeply rooted in Azerbaijani society.
It was emphasized that in addition to his important role in the Jewish community, Alexander Sharovsky was one of Azerbaijan‘s prominent cultural figures. As a People’s Artist, actor, and director, his extensive and rich creative work contributed to the enrichment of the country’s cultural life over decades.
The embassy extended its deepest condolences to the family of Alexander Sharovsky, the Jewish community of Azerbaijan, as well as to everyone who knew, respected, and loved him.
