Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, using ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) overnight into August 5.
According to preliminary information, a total of 15 people were killed and 51 others injured in the attack. Severe fires broke out at several locations in the capital city of Kyiv and surrounding areas.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS), 14 of the fatalities were recorded in the Kyiv region, where 27 people were also reported injured.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the scene. Ukrainian officials do not rule out that people may remain trapped under the rubble.
