The Israeli Ministry of Health and the Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical service have issued an urgent appeal to the public. Amid a sharp decline in national blood reserves, citizens are urged to visit donation centers as soon as possible. Shortages of type O blood components are particularly concerning.
The daily demand for donated blood remains high. Blood and blood components are required for complex surgeries, childbirth, medical care for victims in emergencies, as well as treating soldiers wounded in the line of duty. Maintaining blood reserves at the required level is vital to ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the healthcare system.
Medical services invite citizens whose last blood donation was more than three months ago to join this appeal. Information on operating schedules for mobile donation stations and stationary donor centers is available on MDA's official website.
Ministry of Health warning on cosmetic products
Concurrently, the Israeli Ministry of Health advised refraining from using a number of hair cosmetic products. Non-compliant products were identified during a large-scale inspection of the 'Merkaz HaHachlakot' (Hair Straightening Center) chain that began on July 9.
Inspectors conducted checks at nine branches of the chain and took samples for laboratory examination. The analyses revealed various violations.
Biscuits recalled from the market
In addition, the Ministry of Health announced that Petit Beurre biscuits were urgently recalled from the Israeli market in cooperation with G. Willi-Food International Ltd. and the Central District Food Control Service.
The recall was prompted by a consumer complaint. Laboratory testing revealed sesame seeds in the biscuits that were not indicated on the packaging. Due to this substance not being listed in the ingredients or potential allergens list, a decision was made to remove the product from sale.
