Today an official mutual award ceremony for the presidents of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan took place. The event was held as part of the heads of state’s visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov presented Ilham Aliyev with his country’s highest state award — the Order of Manas of the 1st degree. In his speech, he noted the Azerbaijani leader’s outstanding contribution to the development of interstate strategic partnership and the strengthening of ties between Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
In turn, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev awarded Sadyr Japarov the Order of Heydar Aliyev for his special services in developing friendly and partnership ties between the peoples.
Ilham Aliyev: Over the years of our cooperation with you, our countries have come a very long and glorious way and have elevated our interstate relations to the level of strategic alliance. There is no higher level than this in the world.
The head of Azerbaijan highly praised the economic and social achievements of Kyrgyzstan under the leadership of Sadyr Japarov, specifically noting the large-scale development of the Issyk-Kul region and the growth of the country’s international prestige.
Accepting the award, Sadyr Japarov emphasized that he perceives the order as a symbol of joint efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries.
