The introduction of a visa-free regime for ordinary passport holders between Azerbaijan and Jordan is envisaged.
Jnews.az reports that in this regard, the issue of approving the «Agreement between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Government of Jordan on the mutual exemption of ordinary passport holders from visa requirements» has been included in the agenda of the September 14 meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations.
After the agreement is approved, citizens of Azerbaijan and Jordan holding ordinary (general citizen) passports will be able to travel visa-free mutually.
International cooperation
At the committee meeting, alongside the visa regime between Azerbaijan and Jordan, the approval of several other international documents will also be discussed.
The agenda includes a draft law on air communication with Mongolia, as well as the issue of approving the Second Additional Protocol to the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.
Deputies will review cooperation issues with Ukraine in the field of intergovernmental communications and an agreement with Slovakia on the mutual protection of confidential information.
In addition, discussions are planned on a number of documents regarding relations with Kyrgyzstan, including the Treaty on Allied Relations, the Agreement on international road transport, and documents envisaging changes in the operations of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund.
In the energy sector, a draft law on the implementation of the agreement on exploration, development, and production sharing for the «Guba-Caspian» area will be considered.
The project covers part of the territories of Guba, Gusar, Shabran, Siyazan, and Khizi districts. The document envisages cooperation between the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Gran Tierra Energy (Azerbaijan) GmbH, and SOCAR Guba-Caspian LLC.
