The traditional "Amim ve-Teamim" ("Peoples and Tastes") international food festival will be held in Gan-Elisheva Park in Ashdod, Israel, on July 6 and 7.
The festival will be organized by the "Ashdod" tourism company. Over the two-day event, the park will transform into a large gastronomic space bringing together national cuisines from various countries around the world.
Approximately 70 food stalls will operate at the festival. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes from Japanese, Indian, Italian, Georgian, Moroccan, Mediterranean, and other world cuisines. Sushi, pizza, falafel, khachapuri, couscous, and dozens of other different dishes will be on the festival's menu. According to the organizers, all dishes will be offered at subsidized prices – a maximum of 20 shekels.
The "Sea Citadel" wine, considered one of Ashdod's symbols and named after the city's historic sea fortress, will also be presented at the event.
The festival will not be limited to gastronomy alone. The program will include live music, entertainment events, and various cultural performances. Attracting thousands of people each year, the event is considered one of the largest festivals of the city's summer season.
According to Shimon Katsnelson, Deputy Mayor of Ashdod, approximately 60,000 people visited the festival over two days last year. He stated that people from 99 countries live in Ashdod, and the "Amim ve-Teamim" festival is one of the most important events showcasing the city's rich cultural diversity, national cuisines, and spirit of unity.
