London police reported mass arrests following disturbances that occurred on Sunday near a synagogue in the Edgware area. The incident is related to an attempt by pro-Palestinian demonstrators to disrupt a real estate presentation.
Videos of fierce clashes between activists carrying Palestinian and Israeli flags were published on social media. According to law enforcement agencies, approximately 1,000 people from both sides gathered near the synagogue.
There is an increased police presence in Edgware due to today's event at the synagogue… During the operation, 14 people were arrested.
Protesters accused the organizers of the presentation of promoting the sale of plots in Israeli settlements on the West Bank of the Jordan River. The organizers denied these accusations.
Earlier, London police arrested 26 suspects after a series of arsons and attacks on Jewish community facilities. In May, about 10,000 people marched on Downing Street, demanding increased protection for Jewish communities from the attacks.
