On August 14, a presentation and special screening of the documentary film «The Heritage Guardian», dedicated to the contributions of the President of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Xi Jinping to the protection and development of China’s cultural heritage, was held in Baku.
At the event co-organized by the China Media Group (CMG) and the Embassy of China in Azerbaijan, the film was presented to the audience in a version dubbed into the Azerbaijani language.
Speaking at the event, Lu Mei, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Azerbaijan, emphasized the importance of the film in terms of strengthening cultural ties and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
The diplomat noted that Azerbaijan and China are countries with an ancient history, and that relations between the two peoples began more than two thousand years ago through the Great Silk Road.
Lu Mei stated that in recent years, China-Azerbaijan relations have entered a new stage:
“In recent years, under the strategic guidance of PRC President Xi Jinping and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, China-Azerbaijan relations have entered a new stage and risen to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership. Thus, a new page has opened in the development of cooperation between the two countries.”
The film tells about the protection of China’s cultural heritage
«The Heritage Guardian» is a special project of the China Media Group. The documentary reflects the activities carried out towards the protection and transmission of China’s traditional cultural heritage to future generations.
The motion picture presents examples related to the restoration of historical monuments, their protection, and their integration into the modern life of Chinese society.
The screening of the film in the Azerbaijani language is intended to contribute to the further expansion of cultural ties between Azerbaijan and China and the strengthening of mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
