The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that thousands of military facilities belonging to the Hezbollah group have been discovered as a result of operations conducted in southern Lebanon in recent months.
According to the information released by the military, the discovered facilities include command posts, military positions located in residential buildings, rocket launch sites, observation posts, underground tunnels, and large-scale weapons and ammunition depots.
The Israeli army reported that over many years, the group has created an extensive operational network by placing its military infrastructure in civilian areas in southern Lebanon.
IDF: By establishing facilities of strategic importance for its military activities within residential areas, Hezbollah has used the civilian population as a shield, thereby endangering the lives of Lebanese citizens.
According to the IDF, the main goal of the ongoing operations is to prevent threats directed at the civilian population living in the northern regions of Israel.
