A new exhibition titled "Nakba" has opened at the Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg, Canada. The exhibition focuses on the departure of many Palestinians from their homes following the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.
The exhibition displays photographs, poems, and various objects used in the daily lives of Palestinians. According to the museum, the purpose of the exhibition is to convey to visitors the events that occurred during that period and their impact on people's lives.
The exhibition has prompted protests from some Jewish organizations. They have stated that the exhibition takes a one-sided approach to the events and does not fully reflect the historical context.
Additionally, one of the Jewish members of the museum's board of directors has resigned in protest of the exhibition. He noted that the exhibition does not address the claims of Jews who were forced to flee from Arab countries after 1948.
The museum's leadership, however, has stated that the exhibition is dedicated to the historical experience of Palestinians and does not aim to deny the events experienced by other peoples.
