Israel's Finance Ministry and Defense Ministry have reached a significant agreement on funding military needs. Following talks mediated by the National Security Council, a decision was made to allocate an additional 5 billion dollars (15 billion shekels) from the state budget for military requirements.
According to reports, this decision was made within the framework of the 40 billion shekels in funds requested by the Defense Ministry to address the financial deficit resulting from military expenditures.
The Finance Ministry's official statement noted that this compromise step will yield a number of positive results:
• There will be no need to revisit the state budget approved for 2026.
• The implementation of new taxes will be prevented.
• There will be no need for cuts in state services.
Additionally, the parties agreed on the establishment of a special monitoring mechanism that will oversee the expenses requested by the Defense Ministry.
