Russia's Navy has commissioned the Murmansk, a new nuclear-powered submarine. The ninth vessel of the Yasen project and the fifth modernized Yasen-M class submarine, Murmansk is regarded by military experts as one of the world's largest and most advanced submarines.
According to technical specifications, the submarine has a displacement of 13,800 tons and a length of 127 meters. It is capable of moving underwater at speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour. The vessel is equipped with advanced stealth technologies designed to enhance concealment.
The submarine's armament consists of Kalibr and Oniks cruise missiles, as well as various types of torpedoes. According to experts, it is not ruled out that the vessel may be equipped with Zircon hypersonic missiles in the future.
Military analysts emphasize that the commissioning of Murmansk could have a significant impact on the balance of forces at sea. However, it is noted that since the actual combat capabilities of this type of submarine have not been fully disclosed, assessments of their military strength are currently based on estimates.
