Today marks the fourth anniversary of the "Revenge" operation carried out by the Azerbaijani Army on August 3, 2022.
The operation was carried out in response to the death of Azerbaijani Army serviceman Anar Kazimov as a result of sabotage committed by illegal Armenian armed groups in Karabakh. These armed groups, stationed in the temporary responsibility zone of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, violated the provisions of the trilateral Statement dated November 10, 2020, and committed terrorist provocations against the Azerbaijani Army.
They also attempted to seize the Qirxqiz height located in the direction of the Kelbajar and Lachin districts and establish new combat positions in that area.
In response, the Azerbaijani Army carried out the "Revenge" operation. As a result of the operation, Qirxqiz, Sarsang, and other strategic heights were taken under control. Subsequently, engineering and fortification works were carried out to strengthen the positions, increase defense capabilities, and create supply routes.
