Within the framework of the teacher certification process in Azerbaijan, the creation of 20,000 new full-time teacher positions is planned.
This information was provided by the Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, during his speech at an event on the topic "Certification: Competent Teacher — Quality Education."
According to the Minister, a total of 115,000 teachers will be involved in the reform process during the next stage of certification.
It was stated that teachers who successfully pass certification will be divided into two categories. One group will obtain full-time teacher status, while the other group will continue their activities as hourly-paid teachers receiving additional salary.
Based on the information presented, as a result of the phased implementation of the reform, 20,000 full-time teacher positions will be created in the country. It was also noted that teachers who achieve this status will not participate in the recertification process in the future.
The Minister also emphasized that a portion of teachers who fail to achieve the required results in certification will have the opportunity to work as assistant teachers. Labor relations with the remaining portion will be terminated in accordance with current legislation.
