Another enterprise specializing in the production of modern irrigation systems will begin operations in Azerbaijan by the end of the current year. This was announced by Subhan Rzayev, Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Agrarian Services under the Ministry of Agriculture, during the conference «The Role of Entrepreneurship in Regional Development.»
According to Rzayev, the new plant will produce drip irrigation systems. This will bring the total number of such enterprises in the country to six. Concurrently, work is underway to establish a similar production facility in Nakhchivan.
Currently, five plants producing modern irrigation systems operate in Azerbaijan. Three of these, located in Shamkir, Yevlakh district, and Hajigabul, were established with state support.
Subhan Rzayev noted that existing enterprises are capable of annually supplying irrigation systems for 40,000 to 50,000 hectares of agricultural land.
«However, there is high demand in this area, so the government continues to provide support».
The agency representative also reminded that work is currently underway in the country to implement modern irrigation technologies on an area of approximately 100,000 hectares.
