British pop singer Boy George has released a new song titled «We Will Dance Again» (Hebrew: «Od Nirkod»), expressing his support for Israel and the Jewish people. The reggae-influenced track was shared on the singer’s social media accounts on July 26, 2026, with the hashtag #Shalom.
In the lyrics, Boy George sings: «If you’re ever confused, know this: I stand with the Jews.» He also defends Israel’s military operation in the Gaza Strip and criticizes musicians and activists who support the Palestinian side while, in his view, taking a selective approach to the events of October 7, 2023.
«You say genocide, I say war. When you’re attacked, that’s what an army is for,» the song declares at its opening.
The title of the track refers to the slogan adopted by survivors of the Nova music festival, where 378 people were killed and dozens more were taken hostage during the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7, 2023. Since the tragedy, the phrase has become a symbol of resilience. The official Nova Festival Instagram account responded to the singer’s post by writing: «We will dance again.»
Support for the Jewish community
Although Boy George is not Jewish, he has repeatedly voiced his support for the Jewish community in recent months. Previously, he rejected calls to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest over Israel’s participation, stating that he would not turn his back on his Jewish friends. Unlike some artists who refused to perform alongside Israel, Boy George represented San Marino in this year’s competition.
Earlier this year, following an antisemitic attack in London’s Golders Green district, the singer again expressed solidarity with the Jewish community. The British anti-antisemitism campaign Stop the Hate UK publicly thanked Boy George for his stance, describing him as a supporter of «Jewish joy.»
