An incident resulting in the death of two people occurred at the «Sheki Yaylasi» recreation center located in the village of Bash Kungut, Sheki.
Jnews.az reports that on September 8, information was received by the Sheki District Prosecutor’s Office regarding the death of two people at the recreation center.
As a result of the incident, Bayramov Ujal Asif oglu, born in 1999, and Mammadzada Joshgun Jeyhun oglu, born in 1995, died.
During the initial investigation, it was determined that the tragedy occurred while using the «Zipline» attraction. The main mechanical device detached from the cable due to the deformation of the metal structure to which the rope system was attached.
As a result of damage to the additional safety equipment, both individuals fell from a height to the ground and died at the scene.
An inspection of the bodies and the area of the recreation center was conducted. Forensic medical and technical examinations, as well as other measures related to checking compliance with safety rules, have been ordered by the prosecutor’s office.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the fact under Article 314.3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (negligence resulting in the death of two persons).
Currently, the investigative authorities are investigating all circumstances of the incident, including the technical condition of the equipment and whether its operation complied with safety requirements.
