Russia has struck the building of the «We — Ukraine» television channel in Kyiv. During the attack, journalists were broadcasting the «United News» («Yedyni Novyny») telethon live.
Jnews.az reports that, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, an attack drone hit the building housing the television channel. As a result, the building was partially destroyed and a fire broke out.
Emergency services are operating at the scene. Employees of the State Emergency Service have extinguished the fire. According to preliminary information, five people were injured in the incident. The number of casualties may increase.
Zelensky condemned Russia‘s strikes on media facilities using «Shahed» drones, stating that this should prompt a reaction from the European and international communities.
The Ukrainian president noted that no strike against Ukraine and Ukrainians should go unpunished, adding that stopping Russia is only possible through joint international efforts.
