Sixteen people were killed and 28 injured when a passenger bus overturned in Egypt’s South Sinai Governorate.
Jnews.az reports, according to Egypt’s Ministry of Health, that the accident occurred on September 2 on the Dahab–Nuweiba road, in the direction of Nuweiba.
Immediately after receiving news of the accident, the ministry’s central operations room was activated, and 20 ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
The injured were taken to hospitals after receiving first aid. The ministry stated that 16 people died at the scene and 28 were injured.
On the instructions of Egyptian Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, all resources have been mobilized to provide the injured with necessary medical care, medicines, and medical supplies.
No official statement has yet been released regarding the cause of the accident.
It should be noted that the Dahab–Nuweiba road connects settlements located on the Red Sea coast that are popular among tourists.
