On September 1, the 2026–2027 academic year officially began in Israel. About 3 million students across the country attended classes in schools.
Jnews.az reports that a number of changes have been made to the curriculum for the new academic year. In particular, attention has been increased to developing students' psychological resilience and a sense of belonging to the community.
In addition, new subjects aimed at adapting to modern technological and economic realities have been included in the curriculum. Students will begin studying the basics of artificial intelligence and financial literacy.
About 180,000 of the students who started classes are children entering first grade. For them, the 2026–2027 academic year will be the first stage of school life.
