Indian security and intelligence agencies have issued a warning regarding a potential threat of sabotage ahead of the upcoming BRICS summit in New Delhi.
Jnews.az reports that according to intelligence data, the "Shahzada Bhatti" network may be planning to cause an explosion on the outskirts of the capital or target police officers. Indian police have intensified security measures in response to the intelligence.
Reports indicate that the primary objective of a potential attack would be to cause public panic and bring attention to the group rather than inflict widespread destruction. As part of preventive measures, security forces are monitoring the activities of more than 2,000 individuals.
Surveillance and security operations in New Delhi have been reinforced, particularly around the key venues designated for the BRICS summit.
Indian security agencies previously reported carrying out a large-scale operation against the "Shahzada Bhatti" network in August, during which hundreds of people were detained across 14 states, thwarting potential attack plans by the group.
