Armenia's Anti-Corruption Committee has disclosed some details of the investigation involving former President Robert Kocharyan and his eldest son, Sedrak Kocharyan.
Jnews.az reports that the Committee has released footage related to the detention of former President Robert Kocharyan and his eldest son, Sedrak Kocharyan. According to official reports, a total of six people have been detained.
According to investigators, during his tenure as President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan colluded with close associates to participate in the privatization of several valuable state-owned properties of public and economic significance.
The investigative authority stated that these properties were subsequently acquired at prices significantly below market value. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Earlier, reports were published regarding allegations against Robert Kocharyan concerning the alienation of state property and abuse of official authority. Kocharyan's defense team denies the allegations, stating that his family members had no involvement in the transactions in question.
